KITCHEN KETTLE VILLAGE is now hiring a PART-TIME SEWING MACHING OPERATOR. This position will assist in manufacturing the Deerskin Leather brand products. They are responsible for sewing, gluing, installing hardware, embossing, and evaluating the finished product for quality control. They will work with leather, nylon, and metal materials to create handbags, wallets, jewelry, and other small goods per the designs of Deerskin Leather’s brand. An ideal candidate should have prior leather or heavy material sewing experience, experience with single and double needle sewing machines, and embossing. Should be available to work most Saturdays.
An ideal candidate for this position should be able to work with a variety of fabrics as well as leather and metal materials to create handbags, wallets, and jewelry for Deerskin Leather's brand. They should be comfortable working with a team and comfortable engaging with the public and answering their questions.
This is a part-time position, approximately 15-20 hours per week. Saturdays are considered a priority workday.
Some of the essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:- Sewing lining and leather panels to create Deerskin Leather brand products for handbags, wallets, jewelry, and other small goods.
- Installing hardware such as buckles, clasps, snaps, slides, rings, and magnetic snaps.
- Communicate with Owners, buyers, and suppliers.
- Interact with customers on the sales floor discussing manufacturing process and answering questions.
- Embossing product with our logo and monogramming.
