Job Description

Our growing commercial drapery business is looking for FT/PT help in our drapery fabricating workroom. We specialize in custom draperies for commercial businesses, hospitals, schools & churches.

We have openings for individuals who can operate sewing machines, cut fabrics for processing into draperies and general textile fabrication. These individuals will be cross trained in all workstations in the workroom. Experience with sewing machines is not necessary, but extremely helpful. A sense of urgency and attention to detail is critical in this industry as we often have tight deadlines.

We need individuals who are fast, efficient and produce high quality work all while contributing to a fun, positive atmosphere.

Responsibilities

This position will require you to stand for long periods of time. You will be handling large pieces of fabric as you will be maneuvering bolts of fabric and sewing draperies. Any knowledge of sewing techniques will be useful.

Qualifications

To be a good fit with our team, you will need to be able to:

• Read a tape measure and have useable math skills
• Lift at least 20 lbs on a regular basis
• Lift 40 lbs on occasion
• Be able to stand for most of 6 to 8-hour shift
• Meet deadlines with a sense of urgency
• Pay attention to detail
• Have fun with a hard-working crew who enjoy their work
