Sheriff/Police Chief enforces the law on a town, city, or county level.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Job Responsibilities range from, but are not limited to the following:

    • Developing, implementing, and directing of all Emergency Programs and safety training.
    • Ensuring all equipment is correctly maintained.
    • Conducting inspections and drills
    • Ensuring compliance with all codes and regulations.
    • Maintaining accurate records to ensure a safe environment which protects the asset, guest, and employees.
    • Developing, implementing (with GM’s approval), and managing energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses.
    • Ensuring all work orders are accurately and efficiently completed.
    • Defining the cost and scope of projects and overseeing them to ensure quality work is performed for minimal costs. (All spending must be approved by General Manager)
    • Overseeing all facets of the properties Preventative Maintenance program.
    • Developing, recommending, implementing (with GM’s approval), and managing the departments capital expenditure plan, forecasts, and objectives consistent with maintaining first class property.
    • Developing, implementing (with GM’s approval), and managing a maintenance program and negotiating maintenance contracts for the hotel, the grounds, and all the equipment in compliance with company/franchise standards and local, state, and national codes and regulations.
    • Directing workers engaged in general property upkeep.
    • Analyzing and resolving work problems, or assists workers in solving problems.
    • Promotes company’s 100% commitment to providing extraordinary service to our guests throughout the property. Instills 100% guest satisfaction objective to all hourly associates.
    • Ensures that all guest related issues are resolved in a manner consistent with the company’s goals and objectives.

    Employee Management

    • Recruits qualified applicants. Trains and/or monitors employees in accordance with company and franchise standards.
    • Motivates and gives direction to employees.
    • Communicates all policies and procedures to entire staff. Conducts regular meetings to provide various information including company communications, policy reviews, local property activities and events, goals, etc…
    • Adheres to federal, state and local laws, employment related laws and regulations.
    • Manages employee personnel forms, including hiring, performance evaluations, payroll and benefits related information, required Federal and State posting, etc.
    • Conducts coaching/counseling sessions, performance evaluations, prepares performance improvement plans, disciplinary documentation, and conducts terminations.
    • Ensures that employee related issues are resolved in a manner consistent with company policies.
    • Performs special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
    • Participates in task forces and committees as requested.
    • Performs duties in all aspects of hotel operations whenever needed.

    Miscellaneous

    • Serves as “Manager on Duty”.
    • Provides other relief or back-up duties as needed at the hotel including front desk coverage, housekeeping, and other duties to ensue the optimum operation of the property.
    • Instills a high level of integrity with staff.
    • Conducts business matters in a professional, ethical, and courteous manner.
    • Dresses in an appropriate professional style in accordance with company standards.
    • Ensures reports, including daily and month end, QA, are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Attends training seminars to satisfy franchise and company standards.

    Language Skills

    • Ability to read and speak the English language and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • Ability to effectively communicate professionally with guests, associates, supervisors, and others as required for optimum operation of the property. Conversational Spanish would be beneficial.

    Organizational and Time Management Skills

    • Ability to effectively organize multiple projects, manages and prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets deadlines.

    Computer Skills

    • To perform successfully, an individual should have the ability to use email and have knowledge and basic understanding of Microsoft Office.

    • Is consistently at work on time. Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent. Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
