    Reports to: Program Manager Salary Range: Starting at $28.50 per hour

    Status: Regular Temporary Full-Time Part-Time FLSA: Exempt Non-Exempt

    Job Summary:

    Chief Seattle Club provides permanent, affordable, and supportive housing to residents (primarily Native American/Alaska Native) at our housing projects Salmonberry Lofts, Goldfinch, ?al ?al and Sacred Medicine House. Along with housing comes wrap-around support services to help residents live healthy and sustainable lives.

    The Case Manager works in permanent supportive housing with the Support Assistants and residents on supporting life at our housing sites, which includes culturally adaptive wrap-around services.

    Goals and objectives are established and evaluated by the Program Manager, Residential Services Director, and Program Director. Changes to the job description may happen at any time according to the needs of the organization. This position requires on-site work.


    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Preliminary screening with current residents of the community to assess needs (housing, employment, education, domestic violence advocacy, mental & spiritual health, substance abuse treatment, health, parenting referrals).
    • Provide referrals to outside agencies or organizations to resolve barriers to basic needs.
    • Assist members in creating goals or an action plan and continually follow up with residents.
    • Work with other CSC staff to deliver support services.
    • Assist with residents and the Advocate team with move-in/move-out inspections as needed.
    • Coordinate and network with fellow case managers to develop any necessary new resources.
    • Maintain and complete necessary documentation through client tracking system such as HMIS/Clarity or Agency.
    • Create and report monthly data/statistics to Program Manager for Board reports.
    • Participate in staff/team meetings.
    • Participate in residential activities and events.
    • Support Advocates with any resident needs.
    • Support and maintain a therapeutic and healing work environment.
    • Create and maintain resident files in secure areas such as file cabinets and/or a Cloud platform.
    • Assist the Program Manager with any move-ins/move-outs.


    Education and Experience:

    • BA or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum 2 years case management experience; preferably in a non-profit social service setting.
    • Experience working with homeless and/or low-income populations is preferred.


    Other Factors/Considerations:

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365.
    • Knowledge of current policies, laws and rights around housing.
    • High degree of discretion and excellent judgment.
    • Ability to handle complaints/conflicts in a calm and professional manner.
    • Formal professional de-escalation training
    • Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under stressful conditions.
    • Must have a strong understanding of historical and intergenerational trauma among Indigenous communities.
    • Valid driver’s license
    • CPR & AED first aid certification


    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: work at a stationary work space for long periods of time, with mobility to move throughout the office; use a PC, constantly reaching with hands and fingers and keyboarding extensively; work with team as frequent communication is required, including use of the telephone; be able to read and write documents in hard and electronic copy, including those requiring great attention to detail; have the physical strength and agility to handle routine office tasks and machinery. Occasional travel may be required for certain employees depending on location.

    This position is typically in an office environment with desktop business equipment and frequent telephone calls. Noise level is moderate. Frequent interruptions are common, while under deadlines and time constraints.

    Most positions at CSC are exposed to members of the community who have experienced or are experiencing trauma in various forms including but not limited to domestic violence, sexual violence, homelessness, unemployment, financial hardship, etc. As a result, staff is at risk of secondary trauma. Employees are encouraged to seek external support and maintain self-care when working indirectly or directly with clients. Mental health care referrals for employees are available.
