Ship Engineer repairs and maintains gasoline and diesel engines in boats, such as yachts, tugs, and trawlers, following specifications. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field. Being a Ship Engineer is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Ship Engineer performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Utilize your logistics expertise and be part of handling a variety of logistics issues in a manufacturing environment. You will assist in the daily store operations to ensure critical parts availability, material handling and so on. You will follow standard work and operating procedures to ensure those duties are fulfilled and goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
· Participate in team meetings/ tier meetings
· Receive and identify incoming raw stock
· Verify packing slips
· Create shipping paperwork
· store supply items
· Maintain accurate receiving records
· Perform SAP or CMS (AS400) transactions
· Assists in the training of new employees
· Responsible for parts quantity accuracy
· Picking, Packing, and Shipping of parts
· Receiving and issuing of parts
· Timely bar coding of empty bin parts
· Must be able to adhere to company safety policies and regulations
· Must be able to wear PPE, safety shoes, protective eye wear, safety vest
· Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
· Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
