Ship Engineer repairs and maintains gasoline and diesel engines in boats, such as yachts, tugs, and trawlers, following specifications. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field. Being a Ship Engineer is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Ship Engineer performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Responsibilities and Duties- Interprets blend sheets and pulls base material for production orders. Replenishes the line with material for each run.
- Unloads railcars and tanker trucks and operates Trackmobile for placement of railcars.
- Loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility, utilizing forklifts, hand trucks, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks and within the storage facility
- Prepping and packaging final product for shipment.
- Bagging and bottling product for production.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established standard operating procedure to perform the functions of the job.
- Able to work in all weather conditions (Heat, cold, rain, snow, etc)
- Able to continuously bend, kneel, twist, reach and climb
- Participate in and drive Continuous Improvement activities or suggestions to help make improvements on quality, cost and delivery.
- Participate in Rapid Problem Solving to help quickly identify ways to get back to standard.
