    PAY: $28 /hour
    HOURS: 40 hours
    SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday
    START DATE: ASAP
    DURATION: 3 Months
     
     
    REQUIRED SKILLS:
     

    • Single Pass Tack Welding
    • Burning-Oxygen/Propane Burning Torch
    • Heating-Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch
    • Ability to comprehend complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
    • Ability to comprehend fractional dimensions with the use of a ruler.
    • Ability to layoff piece parts for fabrication and assembly.
    • Ability to assemble structural piece parts in accordance with specification.
    • Use vibratory tools (grinders and needle guns)
     
    SHIPFITTER RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine shipfitting requirements
    • Cut, shape, and fit metal components to form parts of ships using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
    • Assemble and tack-weld components together to prepare for final welding
    • Align and fit parts according to specifications using calipers, rulers, and other measuring instruments
    • Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area
     
    SHIPFITTER REQUIREMENTS:
     
    • Previous experience in shipfitting or a related field is preferred
    • Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication techniques
    • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair is a plus
    • Ability to solder and assemble metal components
    • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in shipfitting
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
    • Physical stamina and ability to work in a physically demanding environment
    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
     
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States
    • Must have reliable transportation to the job site
    • Must be able to pass a drug screen
