The Shipping Documentation Specialist II coordinates the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. Prepares shipping documentation and processes orders. Being a Shipping Documentation Specialist II troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. In addition, Shipping Documentation Specialist II ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Shipping Documentation Specialist II works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Shipping Documentation Specialist II typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Performs a wide variety of general library work in technical and/or public services, under the direction of the Assistant Director. Supports the daily operational needs of the library by performing responsible and varied tasks related to circulation, technical services, and programming. Tasks may include managing reserves, managing periodicals, shelf maintenance, assisting in the technical services department, and assisting with and leading library events. Assists patrons with finding information and using information technology, library services and facilities. Works the public service desks.
NM Class D Driver’s License High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred. Six months customer service and/or clerical experience, or any relevant combination of education, experience and training. Experience in a public library preferred. Experience with children and youth preferred.
Ability to work independently and as a team; excellent customer service skills; ability to learn Dewey Decimal System, integrated library system, database searching, and library circulation policies and procedures. Computer skills including working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet searching, e-mail, and data storage devices. Strong oral and written communication skills; flexibility to adapt to a changing environment. Ability to effectively assist all library user groups including adults, teens, and children. Ability to work standing, reaching and bending for up to two hours; ability to lift 50 pounds; ability to pass drug and alcohol tests and have a favorable criminal background check.
Library environment; may be required to work more than eight hours per day or 30 hours per week.
