Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods in and out of our warehouse. This is a full-time position located in Middletown, CT.
Responsibilities:
- Unload and load trucks using equipment such as reach trucks or order pickers
- Pick and pack orders for shipment, ensuring that items are properly labeled and packaged
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping labels
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution center preferred
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes and procedures
- Proficiency in using warehouse equipment such as reach trucks or fork lifts
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping
