The Shipping Documentation Specialist II coordinates the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. Prepares shipping documentation and processes orders. Being a Shipping Documentation Specialist II troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. In addition, Shipping Documentation Specialist II ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Shipping Documentation Specialist II works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Shipping Documentation Specialist II typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Main responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned, per business needs): Responsible for shipping and/or receiving of outgoing materials Maintain required housekeeping requirements in the department Ability to use departmental shipping software and label software Good overall computer skills required Excellent communication skills; will correspond with internal personnel and delivery drivers, etc. Operate tow-motor as needed Follow all company safety procedures Maintain required safety certifications as required by the position Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Others duties as assigned Flexible hours are required due to shipping schedule demands (example: 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. or 6:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., with every other Friday working) Education /Training High School Diploma or GED preferred. Qualifications/Experience Previous shipping and/or receiving experience helpful. Languages English language functional communication required.
