The Shipping Documentation Specialist II coordinates the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. Prepares shipping documentation and processes orders. Being a Shipping Documentation Specialist II troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. In addition, Shipping Documentation Specialist II ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Shipping Documentation Specialist II works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Shipping Documentation Specialist II typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. - Receive inbound materials into SAP, print storage unit labels when needed, file inbound paperwork and resolve receiving discrepancies.
- Complete order confirmation calls daily, verifying all pertinent customer details/requirements.
- Schedule inhouse drivers and outside contract shippers for LTL or full TLs
- Prepares shipping schedule for morning team meeting.
- Reports shipping information to Plant via SQDC boardwalk
- Check Order status via SAP and SFIS
- Provides backup support to the Material Handler positions.
- Processes PODs and uploads them to SAP
- Conduct calls to Home Depot and Lowes direct to store shipments for delivery times
- Complete cycle counts on finished goods inventory and make adjustments as necessary.
- Pack or repack material as directed.
- Maintain warehouse with maximum usage of space for orders
- Load/offload shipments via forklift
- Maintain and check all receivable shipments, including raw materials and equipment
- Receive inbound freight
- Prepare and maintain all records relative to goods inflow and outflow
- Maintain company fleet records and calendar of inspections.
- Process consignment inventory for shipment and receive/send STO for interplant movements
- Accept and engage in assignments, as business and operational needs dictate.
This position spends the majority of time inside in a manufacturing environment and the remainder working outside in the Shipping Bay areas. There are some variables in the atmosphere that they are exposed to – fumes, odors, dust, and gas. Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in shift hours and days of the week worked. Typically shifts are Monday through Friday although Saturdays may be required during high sales volumes.
Note to California applicants:
Per the states Wage Transparency Act the range for this position is $23.00-$27.00. Actual salary could be greater based on education, experience and other qualifying skill sets.
