JOB SUMMARY:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for the efficient and accurate packaging and shipping of all outgoing products. The Shipping team collaborates to ensure timely delivery and secure arrival of orders, requiring creativity and ingenuity to engineer packaging and shipping solutions for the diverse and complex instrumentation assemblies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Package products efficiently according to shipping procedures and current practices, optimizing the use of packaging resources and ensuring adequate packaging of the product.
Inspect products to ensure acceptability, matching descriptions, and representing Reotemp standards.
Accurately store documentation in computer databases for seamless record-keeping.
Combine unit-packed instruments into master packages, utilizing expanding foam bagging and spraying equipment.
Palletize multiple boxes for freight shipments, ensuring secure and organized transport.
Utilize computer systems to create labels, obtain quotes, and process shipments efficiently.
Maintain professional communication with manufacturing department leads and sales representatives to coordinate shipping details.
Recognize quality issues and document defects, contributing to continuous improvement.
Identify deficiencies in packaging methods and make recommendations for improvements.
Assist production teams during peak workload periods.
Specific duties will vary on a daily basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in the English language (speaking, writing, and reading).
3 years of experience in packaging and shipping complex assemblies.
Experience and familiarity with UPS, FedEx, and international shipping procedures.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP/Shipping software for streamlined operations.
Speed and accuracy with attention to detail.
Confidence in handling international shipments.
Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to rapidly shifting priorities.
Reliable transportation for a 40-hour work week.
Good manual dexterity.
Ability to plan ahead and prepare packaging for last-minute orders.
Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for the duration of the shift.
Willingness to learn new ideas and skills.
Strong work ethic with a desire to work in a fun environment.
Availability to work occasional overtime.
