Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers. This is a vital role in our warehouse operations and requires strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Duties:
- Prepare and organize incoming orders
- Calculate most efficient shipping methods to forward orders to the appropriate dept.
- Organize orders for efficent shipping (ie semi, hot shot, LTL or groud)
- Ensure organized record keeping and billing
- Ensure all shipments are properly documented and recorded in the warehouse management system (WMS)
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Assist in resolving any shipping or receiving discrepancies
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center preferred
- Familiarity in loading a semi
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
