Shipping Operations Manager jobs in Charlotte, NC

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping Manager to join our team. The Shipping Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely shipment of our products to customers while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the shipping department, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow management.
• Coordinate with production, logistics, and customer service teams to prioritize orders and meet shipping deadlines.
• Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging materials accurately and in compliance with customer specifications and regulatory standards.
• Supervise loading and unloading operations, ensuring the safe handling and secure packaging of finished products for transportation.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and organize storage areas to optimize space utilization and facilitate efficient order picking and staging.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to promote a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries.
• Conduct regular inspections of shipping equipment and facilities, addressing any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Train and mentor shipping department staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Monitor shipping performance metrics, analyze data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of shipping processes, including packaging, labeling, and transportation regulations.
• Experience with UPS Worldship and Fedex shipping experience required.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy in all aspects of work.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution skills.
• Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
