Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Receiving Manager to join our team. As the Receiving Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the receiving process, ensuring efficient operations and accurate inventory management. This is a key role within our organization, requiring strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of warehouse operations.
Duties
- Oversee the receiving process, including unloading trucks, inspecting shipments, and verifying the accuracy of received items
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all received items
- Collaborate with purchasing and inventory teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues with received items
- Manage and train a team of receiving associates, providing guidance and support as needed
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of received items to appropriate locations
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software tools to track inventory levels and manage receiving operations
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Assisting warehouse workers by preparing and completing orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving processes and inventory management
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment
- Assisting warehouse workers with loading and strapping material for deliveries.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
- Experience with process improvement methodologies is highly desirable
- Ability to effectively manage a team, providing guidance and support as needed
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
