Shipping Operations Manager manages shipping operations' daily activities, including order processing, inventory tracking, documentation, and transportation oversight.     Position Summary:

    The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the implementation, administration, communication and ongoing evaluation of the Company’s Human Resources programs ensuring the programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements. This includes off-site local manufacturing locations.


    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Ensures the execution of human resources practices, implements HR programs, policies and processes including safety, workforce planning, talent acquisition, on-boarding, goal setting, performance management, total rewards, employee engagement that optimizes the organization’s talent, structure, process, and culture.
    • Manages the Human Resources Generalist, Recruiting Specialist, Payroll Specialist and Benefit Administrator.
    • Ensure all decision making (as it related to employees) supports, sustains, drives and epitomizes LEE Industries culture.
    • Counsels & advises all levels of management in all areas of Human Resources including recommending and reviewing integrated HR plans and programs.
    • Analyzes and complies information and statistics and develops reports and presentations with recommendations for Management-level meetings.
    • Ensures that payroll processes adhere to legal and regulatory requirements related to taxes, labor laws, and employee benefits. Overseeing accurate data entry, maintaining employee records, and validating payroll calculations to prevent errors.
    • Ensures payroll and associated benefit programs are processed on schedule, including handling new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
    • Assist the VP of Human Resources on various research/special projects and company initiatives.
    • Investigates & responds to employee concerns regarding general employee matters.
    • Assist with talent acquisition programs and plans.
    • Administers the performance management process to include professional development plans, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
    • Develop programs to address and improve employee morale.
    • Participates on internal committees as a leader and/or facilitator.
    • Proposes, interprets, modifies, and administer personnel policies.
    • Sets goals and objectives for staff the HR team to include personal development.
    • Maintains overall integrity of information systems, documentation, and historical information for employee personnel files, employee information forms, job performance evaluations, changes in pay status forms, tax forms, EEOC application record forms, I-9 forms, and inactive personnel files.
    • Assists with Training and Orientation of fellow Employees.
    • Elevates complaints, resolves problems, seeks Managements input and collaboration.
    • Ensures proper PPE’s and Safety procedures are followed.
    • Carries out Managerial responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.

    Performs any other functions and duties assigned and necessary for the smooth and efficient operations of LEE Industries and Artisant Lane Collective.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Knowledge of current Human Resources, Payroll and Safety regulations, state & federal laws, principles, practices.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing process and environment, including nuances related to non-exempt and exempt workforce.
    • Knowledge of Business practices and acumen; makes decisions with an enterprise-wide lens.
    • Skilled in consultative methods, able to effectively coach, negotiate, positively influence/ lead stakeholders.
    • Skilled in verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication.
    • Ability to be forward thinking, customer-oriented, and solution-minded mindset.
    • Ability to be accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.
    • Ability to be charisma and create credibility necessary to build relationships and motivate and influence others.

    • Ability to maintain a pleasant and tactful manner, has an openness with all employees and can have difficult conversations.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally, especially with Finance, Plant Managers and Corporate Leadership.

    Experience & Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, five years plus progressive human resources experience, employee relations, salary administration & benefit plans, staffing & recruitment experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. With 1-3 years leading the human resource’s function. Experience developing systems and workflows in a customer-oriented business that supports a growing company.
    • Experience in managing various levels of employees with different educational backgrounds, work style habits, and employment histories.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    • PHR, SPHR Certified, preferred.

    Technology/ Communication Skills:

    • English language: speaking, reading, and writing skills needed to complete complex required compliance and vendor documentation.
    • Able to effectively present topics to groups, lead & facilitate group meetings, and respond to questions from employees and leadership.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or similar software.
    • Knowledge of various HR reporting and benefit systems and software.

    Travel & Other Requirements:

    • 10-20% of local travel within the state
    • The daily schedule for this position may vary with a normal work week of 45-50 hours
    • Occasional weekends and evenings will be needed related to company events, travel or deadline sensitive projects

    Duties are performed primarily in an office environment at a desk in front of a computer within an office setting, must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time, moderate noise levels, and minimal adverse conditions. Must be able to operate general office equipment. Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, twist, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch. Raise and lower an object from one level to another, less than 10 lbs. Good (corrected) eyesight and hand/eye coordination. May also require visits to Plant production facilities/areas- where an employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, dusts and weather conditions and standard hazards within a manufacturing plant. Safety precautions and personal protective equipment must be maintained at all times.

    Our facilities and offices maintain good housekeeping practices to eliminate hazards to employees to the extent practicable and encourages employees to maintain good hygiene practices.
