Job Requirements:

- 5 years working in shipping preferred.

- Fluent in Microsoft Office, FedEx Ship Manager, Google Chrome & UPS Worldship

- Professionalism to be able to effectively communicate with Customer Service, Packing & Production

- 3 years working as manager preferred.

Job Functions/Tasks:

• Manage and lead a team of shipping and receiving personnel.

• Develop and implement efficient procedures for receiving, storing and shipping product, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.

• Oversee the safe loading and unloading of product & chemical shipments, ensuring proper documentation and communication with all relevant TEAM TUFTEX personnel.

• Communicate and work with Pack Manager to work towards constantly improving efficiency of warehouse space usage, order filling, personnel optimization.

• Coordinate shipments and manage relationships with key shipping vendors to minimize cost of freight and ground shipping.

• Understand and be able to apply all procedures used in shipping and receiving practices. Monitor and analyze practices to work to improve them as needed.

• Coordinate International Shipments with key vendors so as to ensure product shipment reliability and to minimize cost of freight.

• Understand and be able to apply all rules and regulations set forth for team members in the Employee Handbook. Managers will be the first line of reaction to all incidents, disputes, disagreements on their shift. They will, with the aid of the Plant Manager, resolve disputes in the fairness and methodology outlined in the Handbook.

• Provide efficiency/project updates on a weekly basis to Executives and Plant Manager, detail progress and adjustments needed.

• Ensure efficiency standards are met in Pack/Ship as well as in production across all shifts.

• Maintain responsibility and oversight of shipping processes to ensure quality standards are met for all goods before there are shipped.

• Ensure that all safety procedures and guidelines are being met and be a part of or in contact with the Safety Committee on a regular basis about any identifiable places of safety improvement.

• Maintain flexibility and be willing to contribute to any role that is needed on any given day. Managers are not only expected to have a working understanding of each of the roles they are overseeing, but also must be willing to hop in to fill in/replace/shadow others upon need.

• Develop understanding of lean manufacturing and six sigma principles.

• Be an exemplar of TUFTEX Team Culture, a cheerleader of the company.

Other Related Information:

• This is a working manager role.

• There is an aspect of being on-call to being a manager at TUFTEX. The Ship Manager will be expected to participate in overtime as needed in Packing/Shipping. They should be within reach of their employees via their cell phone – even at times during off-work hours.

• Will be expected to contribute to oversight of other shifts as well as third shift. This does not mean that the Ship Manager will be expected to work much during the other shifts – merely that, working as a team with other Managers, the Ship Manager will help assure efficiency, quality and safety for all shifts. It is a team effort.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
