Shipping Operations Manager manages shipping operations' daily activities, including order processing, inventory tracking, documentation, and transportation oversight. Utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions, analyze performance metrics, and generate reports. Being a Shipping Operations Manager ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping quality issues, damages, or lost freight claims. Additionally, Shipping Operations Manager develops and maintains relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and vendors. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Shipping Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Shipping Operations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Ensure that service levels are maintained at the appropriate level
Any and all other duties and tasks assigned
Client Service/Satisfaction
Develop and maintain positive client relationship
Conflict resolution and solution analysis
Manage and Coordinate work requests with onsite staff
Compliance
Provides contract compliance management and quality control
Responsible for JLL Engineering compliance program
Budgeting/Reporting
Aid in preparation of budgets for operations
Preparation of regular and ad-hoc reports
Desired Experience and Technical Skills
Strong organizational and management skills
Minimum of 3 years of Facilities Management experience required either in the corporate environment, third party service provider or as a consultant
Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills
Strong presentation skills
Proficient in MS Office, and MS SharePoint
Computer proficiency in CMMS (Work Order) systems
Ability to supervise vendor performance during normal and off hours including weekends when necessary
Preferred * Knowledge of real estate, management, accounting and building systems
