Title: Shipping and/or Receiving Clerk
Reports to: Shipping Supervisor
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Summary:
Receive, store, deliver, and ship material, equipment, and products within established guidelines by performing the following duties. This position regularly makes use of a forklift and / or other vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant, pick up items from other locations for shipment, or make deliveries to customers.
Primary Duties:

Read one of the following to determine action needed: customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition

Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas by forklift or truck.

Assemble customer orders from stock; place orders on pallets or shelves; convey orders to packing station or shipping department in a timely manner.

Receive incoming raw materials and distribution items. Check for accuracy of shipment and piece count.

Ensure that all hazardous goods are packaged, labeled, and shipped properly according to D.O.T. and IATA (F-Zone only – small packs) regulations.

Load materials using forklift onto variety of trucks, including flatbeds, vans, LTC’s, pick-ups, etc.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. and 75lbs on occasion

Demonstrate and Ability to complete the following:
Level 1

Learn to use the handheld scanner and pick orders
Level 2 (Including knowledge of previous levels)
-
Pull orders
-
Consolidate orders from the handheld scanner after picking the order
Level 3 (Including knowledge of previous levels)
-
Transfers pallets from one location to another with handheld scanner
-
Learn to do cycle counts
-
Run BOL’S for orders that are pulled
Level 4 (Including knowledge of previous levels)

Replenishments on the handheld scanner to move pallets from one location to another

Receive pallets in
-
Adjust counts with scanner
Level 5 (Including knowledge of previous levels)

Release and fix orders in warehouse Librarian

Knowledge of Certificate of Analysis for certain orders in IFS
Level 6 (Including knowledge of previous levels)

Forklift continuing awareness
-
OSHA Security awareness
-
General Warehouse awareness
Non-Essential Duties:
-
Maintain order and cleanliness of warehouse(s).

Lock doors daily when leaving.

Generate Bills of Lading and other appropriate shipping papers.

Secure warehouse and docks at the end of each workday.

Perform miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor
Experience:
-
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
-
One year related experience and/or training, preferred
-
OR equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
-
Forklift certification with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
