In joining our team as an “Addgenie”, you will work with multidisciplinary internal teams to help fulfill this mission, including scientists, software engineers and product developers, renowned customer support teams, marketing gurus, and business development professionals. Together, Addgenies create and enhance opportunities for research scientists to deposit their materials, find products and resources easily on our website, and receive unparalleled support in receiving and expertly using our materials in their own experiments.

To Succeed in this Role, You Will:

• Complete tasks related to order processing and shipping to ensure successful delivery of Addgene materials to requesting labs. This includes preparing materials, including documentation for outbound shipments.
• Train part time employees on shipping related tasks.
• Work with other members of the Shipping Operations Team to design and implement new processes as well as optimize existing ones 
• Communicate areas of concern regarding processes and personnel with Shipping team and propose solutions
• Work with other members of Addgene on special projects and assignments 
• Assist in overseeing inventory and procurement of packing and some lab material (room temp and cold chain).
• Assist in the receiving of inbound deliveries and successfully distributing to staff and/or designated areas in the office/lab
• Communicate and work effectively with the Product and Development teams on order processing issues/concerns arise that impact our operations

Skills and Competencies

• Experience with order processing/logistics preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively and productively with customers and all levels of staff
• Experience with general computer software, including MS Office and web applications
• Ability to be flexible, and work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to learn new concepts, processes, and technology quickly
• Dependable and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A growth mindset that seeks constructive feedback to continuously improve.
• Follows procedures and demonstrates thoroughness in performing job tasks and assignments.
• Good team player that exhibits patience and respect for others
• Must be mobile and able to lift and move up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
