Shipping Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Shipping Coordinator will ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services. This position will also quote and schedule trucks, collect data for KPI reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain scheduled shipment information from customer service/sales.
• Prepare bills of lading and maintain documentation of goods shipped.
• Print shipment labels and customs documents where necessary.
• Coordinate with delivery drivers to pick up shipments from the warehouse.
• Check delivery drivers in and out throughout the day.
• Provide outbound detailed reports and bills of lading.
• Track and update the status of outgoing shipments.
• Notify customer service of any schedule or order changes.
• Prepare and maintain record of items shipped.
• Enter daily activity information into electronic platforms, logs, or information boards.
• Compile regular reports for management.
• Respond to customer requests and concerns.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Comply with all safety regulations.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures.
• Quote and schedule PPP Delivery Trailers & Storage Trailers.
• Schedule shipment of Freeze Loads.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business management, supply chain management or a related field preferred.
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in shipping, transportation, or logistics roles.

Work Environment:

• Most work is performed in a standard office & plant/warehouse environment.

Physical Requirements Necessary to Perform This Job:

• Sit or stand at a desk for periods of time.
• Hear and speak effectively to communicate in person and over the phone with employees and suppliers.
• Visual acuity to read computer screens and printed documents.
