Shipping Specialist jobs in Chattanooga, TN
Shipping Specialist prepares shipping documentation and processes orders. Coordinates the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. Being a Shipping Specialist utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. Troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Additionally, Shipping Specialist ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Shipping Specialist works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Shipping Specialist typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Shipping Lead Job Description and Responsibilities:
1. Drive forklift to assist with the movement of materials to be processed.
2. Responsible for raw material and finished goods handling, loading and unloading trucks, and distribution of material to warehouse or production lines.
3. Responsible for completing all paperwork for outbound shipments and scheduling freight carriers for pick-up and delivery
4. Tag materials w/ proper labels; Data entry; checking in materials; audit freight bills; write load sheets; process paperwork; printing labels; meet deadlines
5. Training on our equipment and our requirements will be provided.
Shipping Lead Job Requirements and Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience checking freight in and out of warehouse, BOLs, Excel / Data entry experience
2. Must be proficient in using Excel
3. Good computer skills a must-will be working with multiple databases.
4. Read and follow work instructions is a must as most processes are in written form
5. Forklift experience required (must pass testing)
6. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.
