Shipping Specialist:

Village MotorSports of Grand Rapids, a leader in the Powersports Industry, is looking to fill a full-time shipping specialist position. Village MotorSports offers a unique opportunity to get into and advance in an exciting industry. The candidate will be responsible for helping maintain shipment integrity through effective and proper procedures for all products being shipped from the facility.

Shipping Specialist Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare shipping documents and mailing labels for local, national, and international shipments.
• Properly pack parts to ensure safe delivery while minimizing freight costs.
• Properly choosing the most cost-effective method of shipment
• Quickly and efficiently locate inventory for shipment.
• Organize outgoing shipments for pick-up.
• Accurately weigh shipments and enter shipping details into the computer to ensure correct freight costs.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• The candidate must be excellent with alpha-numeric sequences.
• Outstanding computer skills.
• Ability to work on a team as well as independently.
• Being detailed orientated, and not prone to making clerical mistakes.
• The ability to move with purpose.
• Hi-Lo experience is a plus.
• UPS, Fed Ex, USPS, and Freight experience preferred.
• Accurately Locate, Tag, Stock and Pull Inventory.
• Parts and/or warehouse experience is a plus.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Must be able to lift and handle up to 60 pounds throughout the day.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, hourly position. Standard hours of operation, store hours are Monday – Friday 9am-6pm. Saturday hours are as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience as a shipper is preferred.
