Coordinates the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. Being a Shipping Specialist utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. Troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Additionally, Shipping Specialist ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Shipping Specialist works under moderate supervision. Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips and shipping labels
Coordinate shipments with carriers to ensure timely delivery of products
Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and completeness
Maintain shipping records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures
Communicate with internal teams to coordinate order fulfillment and resolve any sipping issues
Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient with shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Google
Forklift certification a plus
