Shipping Specialist jobs in Portsmouth, NH
Shipping Specialist prepares shipping documentation and processes orders. Coordinates the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. Being a Shipping Specialist utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. Troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Additionally, Shipping Specialist ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Shipping Specialist works under moderate supervision. Responsibilities- Work closely with Sales Coordinator to monitor status of goods needed to fulfill orders on time
- Assist Warehouse Management in ensuring that orders are fulfilled on time and prioritized by ship/cancel dates
- Prepare all carton labels per customer guidelines
- Route shipments/orders following customer guidelines
- Schedule and coordinate all shipments with customer's Inbound Logistics/Transportation
- Coordinate pickups with assigned carriers
- Prepare BOL's, packing lists, and any required International Docs
- Track shipments to customers if needed and obtain POD's as needed
- Prepare Daily Shipping/Routing Report
- Experience working with purchase orders, sales orders, order routing, and logistics preferred
- Self-starter who is highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to prioritize projects and handle multiple task
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize
- Experience with ERP and WMS
- Monday-Friday 7:30 AM – 4 PM
- Occasional mandatory overtime as needed
- Ability to work weekends as needed during holiday season
- Newfields, NH - On-site
- Able to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods of time while performing duties
- Must be capable of lifting up-to 10lbs
