Shipping and Receiving Clerk jobs in Dearborn Heights, MI

Summary/Objective

The shipping and receiving associate position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

Essential Functions

· Operates lift trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas

· Receives incoming materials form outside vendors/warehouses

· Assist in unloading trucks and placing items on delivery pallets

· Verify the quantity and type of each received item by matching it with shipper

· Appropriately record any discrepancies in item quality, quantity or type

· Attach identifying tags or labels to each item to ensure batch, product & job number information is made visible

· Take packing lists and distribute parts as directed

· Cycle count inventory

· Update inventory shelves, sort and count

· Distribute material to correct department/leader

· Perform other job tasks as needed

· Support all quality systems requirements
Minimum Education Requirements
1. High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience Required

1. Some knowledge of how the shipment business works

Other Requirements

· Previous experience operating a forklift

· Trouble shooting

· Able to do a lot of bending, stooping and lifting (10-50lbs)

· Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment

Desired Training (before or after hire)

1. Previous shipping experience or training
