General Purpose:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for functions relating to the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of material to meet company objectives and customer requirements.
General Responsibilities:
- Assist the shipping and receiving department in routing freight.
- Ensure only intended goods are received and shipped out.
- Maintain records of all outgoing and incoming shipments.
- Ensure the department and operations are appropriately staffed and organizationally aligned to meet food safety objectives.
Job Tasks:
- Take orders off production schedule.
- Manage production schedule.
- Determine when orders will ship and which carriers to use.
- General customer service duties such as looking up POs and providing tracking information and PODS.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing T/L.
- Manage rates for both LTL and T/L.
- Manage monthly and yearly production, scrap, shipping, inventory, end of month, and end of year reports.
- Prepare and manage scrap shipments and sold resin loads.
- Work in conjunction with quality on COAs and forwarding to specific recipients.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Able to interact with customers in a professional manner.
- Good computer skills and be able to use computer programs like MS Word and Excel.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Good organization and time management skills.
