Shipping and Receiving Clerk assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment. Receives, unpacks, inspects and stores incoming materials and supplies. Being a Shipping and Receiving Clerk uses shipping records to verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders. Documents damages and discrepancies for future reimbursement and reconciliation. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Clerk typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Summary:
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Generates shipping reports daily. Generates bar codes for shipments, generates packing lists for shipments, generates paint lists and other services dispatches as needed. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and communicates with Purchasing Department regarding damages and shortages. Completes Purchase Order Receipt on all incoming shipments. Routes items to departments. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. Prepares product for shipment as specified by customer. Transporting product to and from outside service vendors and/or delivering finished product to and from customer.
