Our team is growing rapidly, apply today to become part of the Kodi Collective! Summary: Kodi Collective Marketing Execution Services is looking for Shipping Assistants to join the team. This role is located at our Mahwah, NJ location. This position requires the capability to work as a team as well as independently. Strong organizational skills and knowledge of shipment processes are highly desired. Performs manual and clerical duties related to the preparation and shipment of customer samples, components and finished products mailed primarily through Fed Ex, UPS, USPS or other similar carrier. This role will report to the Shipping Supervisor. Responsibilities: Performs manual and clerical duties related to the preparation and shipment of customer samples, components and finished products mailed primarily through Fed Ex, UPS, USPS or other similar carrier. Maintain necessary files and documentation. Utilizes small hand tools and operate scales, metering machines, etc. and primarily use hand trucks to move materials around. Typical shipping activities include: checking goods against shipping documents and authorizations, packing goods for shipment according to specifications, preparing bills of lading, posting weight and shipping charges and attach information and shipping instructions on to boxes. Typical activities related to the receiving materials include: unpacking of goods; checking against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., identification and quantity; maintaining records of goods received; rejects damaged, excess or misdirected goods, routes material to inspection, stores or other destinations. May require operation of a forklift truck. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned. Qualifications: Skill in reading specifications and identifying the correct parts for fulfilling customer orders. Knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment, and basic warehouse procedures. Skill in using a limited variety of packing procedures and techniques. Experience in forklift operating. Knowledge of shipping documents and ability to identify shipping requirements and procedures for specific items using manual or automated processes. Skill in completing manual and computerized forms and shipping documents regarding stock description, units of issue, weight, quantity, and labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials and equipment. Requires basic arithmetic and standard formulas to determine size and volume of packing containers and materials. Skill in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely. Job requires ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
