Shipping and Receiving Clerk assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment. Receives, unpacks, inspects and stores incoming materials and supplies. Being a Shipping and Receiving Clerk uses shipping records to verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders. Documents damages and discrepancies for future reimbursement and reconciliation. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Clerk typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to supervisor. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products are delivered safely and efficiently to our valued customers.
In this role, you will be responsible for locating, inventorying, and packaging parts for shipping. You will be instrumental in ensuring items are packed so that they are safe and secure during transportation. This may require you to design and build custom pallets, crates, and other containers to ship items. You will be relied on to package items for ease of customer assembly and includes any necessary documents. You will also load items for shipping and coach drivers on how to tie down our products to avoid damage during transportation.
In addition, you will receive, unload, and account for incoming parts in our tracking system, which will include reconciling shipping/packing slips, notifying the teams/contacts waiting on the items, and delivering items across campus or to designated inventory location as needed. You will put together assembly kits, using the latest BOM as a checklist, and drive as needed for priority parts and materials.
Sometimes there may be a need to pick up or deliver materials or parts that are urgent or important. If qualified for and assigned a driver role, you will need to be able to switch between tasks and drive at short notice in the Portland area three to four days per week.
