Shipping and Receiving Supervisor jobs in Dayton, OH
Shipping and Receiving Supervisor supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials. Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Thorough knowledge of the team processes. Job Requirements
Responsibilities of the Shipping / Receiving Associate :
Light Administrative Duties.
Order Processing : Process incoming orders, verifying their accuracy and completeness before preparing them for shipment.
Packaging : Properly package items to ensure safe transportation and prevent damage during transit.
Shipping Documentation : Prepare shipping documents, including labels, packing slips, and invoices, adhering to relevant regulations and requirements.
Carrier Selection : Choose appropriate shipping carriers based on cost, delivery speed, and destination, while negotiating favorable rates when possible.
Tracking and Tracing : Monitor shipments throughout the delivery process, providing updates and resolving any potential issues or delays.
