The Shipping and Receiving supervisor will report directly to the Shipping and Receiving Manager and will be responsible for incoming and outgoing day-to-day freight. The objective will be to manage the shipping and receiving department and staff, including but not limited to the scheduling of freight, FTL’s and LTL’s. 

Responsibilities:

· Oversee shipping & receiving department.

· Investigate shipping & receiving errors, provide corrective actions to prevent future errors.

· Ensure all shipments are picked and ready for daily shipments.

· Ensure all daily receiving is processed and put away same day as received.

· Work with production on Continuous Improvement to reduce waste/loss of inventory and create corrective actions, and SOPs to prevent future loss.

· Investigate discrepancies with the shipping and receiving process.

· Supports Planning on any issues with product that will need to be shipped that the department may have missed.

· Unloading and loading of trucks.

· Knowledge of ERP software. 

· Ensure that drivers depart with appropriate paperwork.

· Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials.

· Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods.

· Identify errors on packing lists and invoices and correct them.

· Monitor shipping orders and shipping quantities match picking documents, BOL’s.

· Supervise and train shipping and receiving staff.

· Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.

  · Develop and implement strategies to optimize process.

Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.

· Relevant experience in shipping and receiving and inventory management.

· Knowledge of warehouse procedures and equipment.

· Proficient in MS Office

· Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Relevant experience to help in the material planning aspects of the company.

· Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds. 

· Maintain Forklift License.
