Shipping & Receiving Manager

Seatex’s Shipping and Receiving Manager will provide oversite to the safe and efficient operation of shipping & receiving so that all business operations, employees, contractors and visitors are able to conduct their day to day business. This progressive leader continuously reviews shipping & receiving operations to determine overall levels of efficiency, employee morale while continuously identifying and implementing process improvements with department heads.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Responsible for ensuring shipping & receiving personnel are trained in the safe and efficient performance of their duties
• 
  Fosters corporate values to develop others and promote a strong work environment
• 
  Able to adjust department operations as required to meet customer requirements and business conditions
• 
  Assist in the analysis of customer complaints and develop recommendations for corrective action
• 
  Maintain physical condition of shipping & receiving department by

o Planning and implementing new design layouts to meet current and future capacity needs

o Maintain all departmental equipment through inspections, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement

o Ensuring department is clean and organized

• Develops, implements, and sustains shipping & receiving processes appropriate to business needs
• 
  Investigates, justifies and proposes systems and equipment to support performance
• 
  Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
• 
  Provide leadership to shipping & receiving staff including coaching, training, and performance management
• 
  Completes shipping & receiving operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
• 
  Liaison with inventory control coordinator to ensure proper inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
• 
  Other duties as necessary

Requirements:

• 
  5 years’ experience leading fast paced shipping & receiving department
• 
  Excellent communication skills
• 
  Adaptable to fast paced environment
• 
  Deep understanding of how materials and data should flow through shipping & receiving department
