Integrated Textile Solutions (ITS) is a locally owned, growing manufacturing organization serving the military and first responders by producing quality products for their use with pride.

ITS is in search of experienced Sewing Machine Operator to work in our Salem location. The Sewing Machine Operator will work to increase operational efficiency, company profitability and customer satisfaction. The Sewing Machine Operator will follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Job Responsibilities

• Sews, cuts, clips, hooks or otherwise assemble materials to produce sub-assemblies or finished product from raw materials
• Reads routing and performs work as assigned by Production Supervisor
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages
• Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
• Wear the proper safety equipment always
• Performs other duties as may be assigned

Essential Knowledge and Abilities

• Sewers must have good manual dexterity, attention to detail and hand-eye coordination. Ability to work repetitive jobs at a fast pace.
• Knowledge of sewing procedures
• Ability to troubleshoot problems
• Perform and record quality checks
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Time management skills and organizational skills
• Excellent customer service and analytical skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• This position requires that the person be a self-motivated individual who can work independently
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations

Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
