We are currently recruiting for a Bellman/Shuttle Driver to join our team!
The Bellman/Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting guests to and from the airport, to tourist areas, such as the beach, restaurants or other destinations in accordance with hotel policy and also provides information on the local area. The Shuttle Driver is typically the first and last representative to interact with guest and must always present themselves professionally as the ambassador of the hotel and Company. The Shuttle Driver drives a limousine, van or small bus when transporting guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greet all guests in the lobby in a warm and professional manner, make them feel welcome and anticipate their needs before they arise
- Recognize all returning and VIP guests, and welcome them back
- Escort all guests checking in to their accommodations following hotel procedure. Inform them about all hotel and guest room features, hotel facilities, and emergency procedures
- Assist guests with their luggage and acknowledge them by name
- Make deliveries to guest rooms as instructed
- Store and retrieve luggage and other objects for guests
- Safely operate hotel vehicle(s), transporting guests between the hotel and the airport or other destinations in accordance with hotel policy
- Open vehicle doors for all guests
- Greet and welcome all guests as they enter the vehicle
- Assist disabled guests as necessary
- Assist guest with luggage as necessary
- Load and unload luggage and other items into vehicle
- Be informed of hotel and Company information in order to provide information to guests when requested
- Maintain a vehicle maintenance log and ensure that vehicle maintenance needs are regularly communicated according to hotel standards
- Report all accidents, injuries, unsafe working conditions and damage to hotel vehicles and related property
- Maintain proper fuel levels of vehicle(s)
- Communicate any guest related concerns to hotel management
- Maintain knowledge of standards and company policies
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have the ability to understand, read, write and speak English and communicate with guests and Team Members of other departments
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions given
- Ability to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
- Ability to work flexible shifts
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to work without constant supervision
- Must be able to drive in inclement weather
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time; using arms, hands and legs repetitively; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to walk, climb or balance, talk and hear.
- May be required to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be capable of effectively using close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- Able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- High school education or equivalent is required.
- Preferred six (6) months related experience
- Must be able to work in team environment
