The Sleep Technician will be responsible for conducting sleep studies and tests to diagnose and treat sleep disorders. This technician will monitor various physiological parameters during sleep such as brain waves (EEG), eye movements (EOG), muscle activity (EMG), heart rate, respiratory effort, blood oxygen levels, and body movements. Further responsibilities include attaching sensors to the patient, preparing and calibrating equipment, analyzing sleep data, reporting findings, and assisting with treatment plans.
This Polysomnography Tech will report directly the Pulmonary Services Manager and will assist with day-to-day operations of the Sleep Studies Lab Department. Qualifications in this role include knowledge of EEG, EKG, EOG, EMG, Respiratory Care, Polysomnography and familiarity in compliance and patient safety standards. The Sleep Technician will also be expected to have RPSGT or RRT-SDS Certification, California Polysomnographic Technologist or Respiratory Care Practitioner License, and Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
