To be a Sleep Center Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary: Plan, develop and implement high quality arts & culture programs and special events for the Lakeville Area Arts Center and the City of Lakeville.*The starting salary for this position is dependent on experience and qualifications but anticipated to be between: $89,305.09 - $96,128.56.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
    Administration: 1. Responsible for the administration, programming and operation of the Lakeville Area Arts Center.2. Negotiate, prepare and implement all performance, program and administrative contracts in conjunction with the Parks & Recreation Director.3. Work with professional artists, avocational artists, community groups and others to provide high quality, diverse, arts and cultural programs and activities in all areas of the arts.4. Create continuous revenue opportunities through creative promotion of the Arts Center. Coordinate planning and development of marketing and promotion of the LAAC programs and events.5. Research and write various grants to enhance programs and develop alternative funding sources and sponsorships.6. Develop and implement cost effective strategies to market the facility to potential user groups through the use of Cable TV, press releases, brochures, radio, flyers, posters and social media. Perform updates to the Art Center website and social media accounts. 7. Maintain records including but not limited to event attendance, class participation, membership, donors, mailing list, and monthly and annual reports.8. Staff liaison to the Lakeville Area Arts Center Advisory Board and the Friends of the Lakeville Area Arts Center.9. Maintain an outreach program with area civic organizations, community organizations, area school districts, businesses and other groups as necessary to promote Arts Center programs and activities.10. Responsible for upkeep, care and scheduled use of Arts Center equipment including sound and light systems, piano, pottery kilns and stage equipment.11. Responsible for recruitment, scheduling, training, evaluation and supervision of full-time, part-time, seasonal, contractual and volunteer staff, including orientation and training for all Arts Center operations.12. Assist with the development of the annual budget and monitor the monthly expenditures, approve bills and submit for timely payment.13. Answer calls and assist in person customers, process program registrations and ticket sales as needed.14. Maintains reservation schedule for use of the rooms and coordinates the room set-up and billing for room usage.15. Maintains software used for ticket sales, program registrations and facility rentals. 16. Acts as a liaison between facility renters and Arts Center Staff. Assists with event coordination regarding technical services, facility set-up, and ticket sales when processed through the Arts Center box office. 17. Performs other projects, tasks and duties as assigned.Supervision: 1. Ensure appropriate coverage, being present as needed, during paid admission events and other large events to ensure quality programs.2. Make recommendations for the recruitment and hiring of Art Center personnel; assess employee performance; evaluate effectiveness of employee orientation and training programs, and comply with safety standards and policies.3. Create an effective climate for employee motivation and productivity through positive reinforcement, recognition, coaching, team building and job enrichment. Relationships and Contacts: • Under the immediate general and technical supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director• Confer daily with the Director on works in progress and review current tasks and assignments.• Respond to requests, inquiries or complaints from citizens, performers and others in a manner that is satisfactory to all concerned and command respect and maintain good will for the City.• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other city departments. Seek out and implement opportunities for collaborative projects and programs which extend beyond department lines.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Ability to research and compile data on complex issues, formulate technical reports and present recommendations concerning policies, programs and strategies.• Demonstrated qualities of leadership, initiative and decision-making.• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.• Proficient knowledge in use of computers, Microsoft Office365 Products, Adobe Creative Suites, Webpage, Registration, Ticketing and Facility Software. Knowledge of scheduling software.Schedules and Other Work Conditions: Work hours are a combination of days, evenings and weekends.Hours worked may be more than 40 per week.
