Sleep Tech Trainee - Sleep Lab - Full Time Nights
A Polysomnographic Technologist performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, must place and securely attach electrodes and recording transducers, must be able to recognize normal cardiorespiratory, as well as neurological and sleep pathology. Attention to details to ensure quality of the polysomnogram and associated interventions under the direct supervision of a Registered PSGT and/or Lead RPSGT as well as general supervision of the Medical Director and Manager of the Sleep Disorder Center. This position is responsible to consistently become educated and trained in order to perform competent polysomnograph recordings while providing patient education to assist in patient compliance of treatment for sleep disorders.
The PSGT Trainee be required to pass the Registry within 12 months of hire date. They will assist the Lead Tech and Medical Director with any and all changes in treatments that are appropriate to enhance the care and safety of the patient. Responsible to keep management and daytime staff fully informed of any situations that may require action as necessary.
Education: High School diploma; completion of an approved associate or higher degree program preferred and/or completion of a polysomnographic technology or another degree program in polysomnographic technology determined by the AASM and/or PA Board of licensure.
Experience: Previous hospital and/or healthcare experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification: BLS Certification or obtained within 30 days
