Ride a boat to work! You will be working in a truly unique location as The Maritime Market is located on an island 3 miles off-shore on beautiful Bald Head Island and accessed by ferry or barge only. The ferry departs from Deep Point Marina in Southport, NC, located about 2 blocks before reaching the Fort Fisher State Ferry landing. As a Market employee, you will be provided parking and tickets to ride the ferry to and from the island daily. You will also be provided a free meal per each shift, along with an employee discount on purchases.

The Maritime Market sells a full line of meat, produce, deli, beer/wine and assorted sundries such as beach toys, books & games, apparel & gifts. The market operates a full service restaurant on site which serves breakfast and lunch. There is also a Wood-Fired Pizza kitchen and an Asian Kitchen that both serve lunch and dinner. The Market also offers a full catering department and caters private functions including weddings, events, beach parties and other gatherings.

Description :

Under general supervision, the stocker maintains stock levels and overall cleanliness of the Maritime Market. This position reports to the Grocery Manager.

Essential Functions :

• Unload merchandise from trucks and pallets and stock shelves in store and organize merchandise as back stock in the backroom areas.
• Assist customers with any special requests and/or help them load purchased material in their shopping cart.

Additional functions:

• Answer telephone and respond to inquiries, fill in for other personnel in their absence.
• Handle ordering as directed by General Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
• Perform other related work as required by supervisor. I.e.…washing dishes or helping in the kitchen…etc. Tips can be earned for washing dishes and helping in the kitchen.

Special Requirements:

Requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
