Slot Shift Manager Assistant assists the manager with gaming activities in the slot department during an assigned shift. Approves jackpot and credit payouts and ensures that all appropriate forms are completed. Being a Slot Shift Manager Assistant confirms all slot equipment is functioning properly. Supervises all electronic gaming device personnel. Additionally, Slot Shift Manager Assistant ensures compliance with federal and state gaming regulations. GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education. The Nursing Assistant follows the Henry Ford Health Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists with the comfort measures and aspects of basic care of adult and geriatric patients under the direction of the RN, including hourly rounding, vitals, accuchecks, hygiene, answering call lights and completing environmental checks.
2. Maintains a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Removes soiled items from patients' rooms upon completion of care and stocks linens.
3. Works with Nutrition Services to ensure that food trays are delivered and set up in a timely manner. Assists with feeding patients and placing patients in a chair for meals when necessary.
4. Transports patients to and from the unit, including transfers and discharges, and assists patients with ambulating throughout the unit.
5. Other job duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• CNA preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary, e.g., Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT) but perform the same job role.)
OR
• May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
OR
• Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan Rn license.
OR
• Medical Assistant program with OR without experience.
OR
• At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
