This position serves as a coach, mentor and trainer for the patient support staff on the Inpatient Unit. The position will continually monitor patient support staff performance across all PST roles in an effort to identify and address training needs and overall competency. The position will ensure that patients are adequately evaluated and supported.

Qualifications:

• Education:  Bachelor's Degree in behavioral health, or related, required.
• Experience: Prefer two (2) years in acute care, psychiatric inpatient setting.
• Valid driver’s license and active liability insurance.
• Satisfactory results from criminal background check.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following tasks are the primary duties and responsibilities of an employee in this position. Any single position may not perform all of these tasks and/or may perform related tasks not listed here:

• Identify and address knowledge deficits and competency needs through individualized and group training
• Identify and communicate staffing needs and challenges to supervisor
• Develop staff to fill specific PST roles, such as team leader and EDT
• Develop competency with EDT staff that ensures thorough and objective patient evaluations
• Improve culture regarding the PST position and patient support/care
• Ensure patient interactions are being adequately documented
• Ensure PST staff are completing their duties as assigned
• Support the Bowen Center Training Institute as requested
