Slot Services Shift Leader

  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Directly oversee Slot Operations on specific shift, working closely with all members of the Slot Management Team to ensure consistency in procedures and high performance levels throughout the entire department.
    • Develop a team of dedicated Supervisors and Slot Associates whose main focus is guest satisfaction, including relationship building, service timelines (3 minutes) and comfort for our guests.
    • Provide leadership and direction for entire Slot Operation and throughout organization.
    • Strive to improve and streamline departmental operations through the continuous assessment of policies and procedures, work processes and program effectiveness.
    • Supervise the function of all Slot Services personnel on assigned shift to achieve maximum productivity.
    • Perform and assist with bill jams and paper outs on all slot machines.
    • Counsel, guide and instruct personnel in the proper performance of duties.
    • Assist with and recommend evaluations, performance reviews and merit compensation according to established guidelines.
    • Maintain work schedules for assigned personnel.
    • Recommend changes in staff levels, including hiring, promotions, demotions and terminations.
    • Ensure facilities and equipment are available and functioning.
    • Correct safety hazards.
    • Ensure customer recognition and development are the foremost duties of all personnel.
    • Evaluate Slot Services departments quality of service.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance.
    • Assume responsibility for credit authorization.
    • Assume responsibility for processing all jackpot payouts and resolving pay discrepancies, including manual overrides at the EC.
    • Hire, educate, evaluate and develop all Slot Associates, ensuring high expectations and performance levels.
    • Provide appropriate equipment (i.e. IPOD, change belt, etc.).
    • Promote an environment of teamwork with all Casino employees, ensuring two-way communications and a collaborative effort within Slots and across departmental lines.
    • Ensure a strong communication network in which management staff and Slot Associates are well-informed of all procedural changes, property information and department and company initiatives.
    • Assume responsibility for the integrity of the Slot Operation and the accountability of company assets.
    • Ensure adherence of policies and procedures by all Slot Associates, and follow through appropriately.
    • Ensure appropriate staffing levels according to business volume, and quickly respond to various factors affecting business levels and service needs.
    • Assume responsibility for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record, and for presenting oneself in a professional manner, both on and off property.
    • Adhere to policies and performance of duties to ensure ongoing Title 31 compliance.
    • Ensure an orderly and positive working environment on the gaming floor.
    • Provide employee training and disciplinary action.
    • Assume responsibility for accident reporting procedures involving guests and employees.
    • Attend meetings as assigned.
    • Understand that the purpose of the work is to conduct precise financial methods and contribute to the generation of profits by providing quality services.
    • Understand that the work affects the bottom line (i.e. profit) of the Slot Department and, subsequently, the reflection upon the image of Slot Services as a successful department.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of one year of experience in a casino slot department.
    • Experience assisting with recruitment, training, coaching and scheduling staff while in a supervisory role.

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES

    • Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Knowledge of the characteristics of appropriate and inappropriate greetings and interactions with guests and staff.
    • Knowledge of the prescribed methods of the application and completion of federal cash reporting requirement forms, including W2-G and Title 31 compliance regulations.

    • Regular attendance and punctuality.
    • Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.
    • Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same.

    • Ability to handle stressful environments.
    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
    • Ability to work in an environment with tobacco smoke.
    • Ability to work in an environment with high noise levels.
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
