Small Engine Mechanic repairs fractional-horsepower gasoline engines used to power lawnmowers, garden tractors, and similar machines. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Small Engine Mechanic may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Small Engine Mechanic relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. We are looking for individuals with strong mechanical skills that can be applied to the service and repair of small engine power equipment with training from our professional staff. This includes lawnmowers, snowblowers, chainsaws, leaf blowers, generators etc. that have 2-4 cycle engines. Candidates will be responsible for performing routine service and assembly on quality power and lawn equipment from brands like Honda, Stihl, Toro, Redmax, Ariens and Ego. This includes diagnosing problems, troubleshooting, rebuilding carburetors, tuning engines and using power tools to assemble equipment and more. We provide all necessary tools and supplies for technicians to use.
Paid training is provided for qualified candidates. Although previous experience working on this type of equipment is preferred, we are willing to invest time, money & resources into training someone who has the right skills and is passionate about learning a trade. There is an opportunity to become a service manager with experience. You will work comfortably indoors at our retail store.
