Social Media Analyst collects and analyzes data related to social media marketing campaigns. Analyzes social media data to identify patterns and trends. Being a Social Media Analyst monitors social media platforms to determine how a new update or feature impacts audience behavior or content performance. Identifies opportunities for campaign optimization and provides recommendations to improve targeting and messaging. Additionally, Social Media Analyst creates and maintains comprehensive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to monitor marketing performance and communicate insights to stakeholders. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Social Media Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor recreation activities. Additionally, Morehead State University is relatively close to a number of larger cities including Lexington, KY, Louisville, KY, and Cincinnati, OH. Morehead State University delivers a strong and affordable education for friendly, ambitious students who thrive in a student-focused learning environment defined by small class sizes and faculty committed to teaching and student success.RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties and responsibilities may involve performing analytical tasks and/or developing comprehensive media products. The media assistant may conduct a significant amount of office or field work, aid in the analysis of research and editing or writing and create and implement special projects and initiatives. This position will require a high level of contact with internal and external customers. A substantial level of teamwork is expected.REQUIREMENTS: Experience with media production. Must be able to complete a significant amount of training/certification. Must have a high level of technology skills. Must have a high level of knowledge of the operations and policies of the unit or department. Must possess independent judgment, discretion and decision-making skills. Must have a proven track record of meeting deadlines and working under pressure. Must be able to handle stress as well as to react quickly in emergency situations.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Able to stand for long periods and lift 25 pounds.

Organizational RelationshipsThis position reports to the Media Manager, Assistant Director, and/or the Director.
Physical RequirementsThis position required standing for periods of time, repetitive motions, walking from one work site to another, talking and hearing during the exchange of ideas including the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication. Requires lifting and moving equipment up to 50 pounds.
Working ConditionsThis positron requires living on campus in the residence hall and remaining on campus through the duration of active programs. This position is mostly an indoor environment; some outdoor events will be required. Unusual hours will be required including evenings, nights, and weekends.
