Nonprofit Events and Social Media Coordinator
NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with a minimum of five years event planning, social media, non-profit and/or business marketing experience. This is a full-time, goal-oriented position with flexible hours. Evening and weekend availability, some overnight travel, and the ability to lift heavy items required.
Candidate should be comfortable talking about women’s health issues and passionate about helping individuals and families impacted by cancer. Applicants must possess excellent writing skills with the ability to take initiative and perform follow up.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
· Plan and coordinate community wellness and fund-raising events including budget development, staffing, sponsorships, logistics and promotional content
· Develop and implement a social media strategy; create graphics and post on social media platforms
· Produce two monthly newsletters
· Create donor engagement campaigns via electronic media
· Website refinement and update
· Coordinate volunteer opportunities and schedules
This position requires someone who can juggle many projects in a fast-paced environment. NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative’s headquarters is in downtown Rock Island, Illinois. We are a small organization poised for tremendous growth as the country’s largest grassroots, volunteer-driven organization that is dedicated to educating early cancer detection and supporting patients with cancer.
