The Position
Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.
This opening if for a Social Services Program Specialist 2 within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) Long Term Services and Supports unit, in Carson City NV. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities associated with Nevada Medicaid's Transportation program, which includes emergency and non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services. Functions include developing, updating and ensuring that the Transportation state plan and policy is in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations related to or impact the provision of emergency or non-emergency medical transportation for Nevada Medicaid recipients. This position also works closely with Nevada Medicaid's non-emergency medical transportation broker to assist in the resolution of recipient or provider transportation issues as well as participate in community and public relations activities. Additionally, job duties include contract management and working in various systems such as Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS), to resolve recipient or provider transportation inquiries and issues.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing social services to clients or program development and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing medical assistance programs services or healthcare services to clients or program compliance and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR one year of experience as a Social Services Program Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Some positions require professional licensure, which will be identified at the time of recruitment and as a condition of continuing employment.
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
