Social Work Manager plans and implements programs to meet the social and emotional needs of patients and patients' families in a health care setting. Develops plans for patient care after release from treatment. Being a Social Work Manager provides social services to patients/clients and their families. GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for consultation and direction of social work in assigned area. Provides orientation and education to the social workers. Conducts casework services and counseling and recommends functions necessary to ensure the overall operational viability of assigned area(s). Participates in the establishment of policies, procedures and work processes. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in the department's goals and objectives.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Master's Degree in Social Work. Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical social work experience. Strong working knowledge of Discharge Planning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Keen analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Positive physician and payer relationships. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Ability to manage multiple priorities and sensitive situations.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: LMSW with clinical specialty or clinical/macro specialty licensure, registered by the State of Michigan. ACM or CCMC Certification preferred.
