Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, performs the following functions:
Duties and Responsibilities
PROVIDES INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES:
Major responsibilities are in the area of teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are expected to be progressive in instructional strategies and in their discipline and to be collegial in their relationships with colleagues, staff, and students. Each adjunct faculty member is directly responsible to the program director/department Dean.
Primary duties include classroom instruction with on-ground and online teaching as appropriate, assessment of student learning and participation in college-wide initiatives. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and technology skills with the ability to work in teams.
Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
- Requires a master’s degree (MA/MS/AM/MASW/MSSW/MSW) from an accredited social work program.
- Part-time adjunct instructional faculty position requires a master’s degree in the discipline or a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline or related field. Collegiate teaching experience is strongly preferred. In a few select areas, less than a master's degree will be considered with adequate work experience and/or industry credentials.
- At least five (2) years of Social Work-related experience required.
- Evidence of professional development in the field of concentration as demonstrated by activity in professional associations, consultative practice, participation in seminars, workshops, or formal coursework, and individual reading and research.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong technology skills including usage of email, student information system, and learning management system.
- Organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of subject area.
- Knowledge of educational theory and application.
- Knowledge of learners and individual learning styles.
