Social Work Manager plans and implements programs to meet the social and emotional needs of patients and patients' families in a health care setting. Develops plans for patient care after release from treatment. Being a Social Work Manager provides social services to patients/clients and their families. Collaborates with physicians, nurses, patients and their families to assess patient social needs and monitor progress of medical treatment. Additionally, Social Work Manager coordinates planning for post-discharge care. Supervises professional staff. Prepares departmental budgets and reports. Requires a master's degree of Social Work. Typically reports to a director. The Social Work Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Documents services and activities per department standards and assists with program evaluation activities to track and analyze utilization and effectiveness of services. What you need to know Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience. Work Schedule: The work schedule for this program is Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm Program Length: Our Social Work Fellow training program is a two-year program. Appointments are made initially for one year, with a second-year re-appointment being at the discretion of the Department. Further continued employment after the end of this two-year program is not guaranteed. Special Instructions: A cover letter, resume, and three letters of recommendation (from recent supervisors or faculty members familiar with your clinical work) are strongly recommended. Qualifications Minimum qualifications: Master's Degree in Social Work or related field from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or equivalent level of education and experience that qualifies the applicant to hold a Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW) License in Texas. Preferred Qualifications: One year of practice experience in a behavioral health or related setting. (This experience may be accrued during a graduate program.) Clinical experience with children, adolescents, couples, substance use, or trauma. Experience in telehealth. Experience in working with interdisciplinary care teams. Experience in evidence-based treatment methods. Responsibilities Provides direct mental health services - Provides detailed Behavioral Health evaluations incorporating a psychosocial history including risk assessment and recommendation for treatment, under supervision of an LCSW-S and within limitations of license. Delivers evidence based psychotherapy to patients using assessment tools to track patient progress and tailored intervention, under supervision of an LCSW-S and within limitations of license. Participates as a member of an inter- and intra-disciplinary team, including problem solving, program planning, clinical care planning, and quality improvement. Clinic Process Development and Improvement - Assists with developing and modifying patient triage and intake and referral systems within the clinic. Assists in implementing and training evidence base treatment. Documents services and activities per department standards and assists with program evaluation activities to track and analyze utilization and effectiveness of services. Patient Review and Continuing Education Support - Participates in continuing education through interdisciplinary didactic and rounding activities. Conducts scholarly presentations to clinic staff and participate in educational activities for staff, students and trainees of other disciplines. Participates in group and individual supervision with clinical supervisor, discussing current patient care, reviewing clinical skill exercises, and ensuring continued professional development.
