Job Summary

• The NASW Standards of Social Work Practice in Health Care Settings are exemplified within this Job Description. 
• The social worker provides medical social casework to a wide array of patients, ranging from the newborn to the advanced geriatric patient. 
• The main focus of the social worker is to assist in meeting the psychosocial/continuum of care needs of the patient and family to ensure optimum functioning. 
• In addition to direct care services, the social worker will have duties of consultation, education, policy and program planning, continuous quality improvement, advocacy, and liaison with the community.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in social work required from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work education.
• Healthcare social work experience is preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Current license to practice in the State of South Dakota at the LSW level (or ability to obtain SD licensure).

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
  • 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Every 5^th holiday
  • Every 5^th weekend call time
  • Every 5^th call time  

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $21.50 - $32.50 per hour
